How does drinking a bottle of wine make a difference to a child?

If you are drinking Thunderchild wine, you are doing just that. 100% of the profits and proceeds from the sale of a bottle of Thunderchild are donated to the Robertson Children's Home, in the form of an educational trust.

Many children come from all over the country and their lives are not always sunny, but have a home at the Herberg Children’s Home in Robertson. The government subsidizes more or less 48% of the monthly expenses of every child in the children’s home. The rest of the expenses must be fundraised by the home on a monthly basis.

Thunderchild Wine is the result of the The Thunderchild Project and has resulted in a delicious red wine being made from vines planted in the Home's garden in 2003.  The wine is made by top winemakers in the area (Abrie Bruwer from Springfield being one), so you can enjoy some delicious Cabernet/Cab Franc and know you are making a difference in these children's lives.

BUY THUNDERCHILD WINE and let us deliver a case or 2 to your home, anywhere in South Africa.

You may not have done the Cape Town Cycle Tour, but you CAN enjoy some Nederburg wines and supporting their great cycling project.

Did you know that Riding a bicycle increases a person’s carrying capacity by 5? And... for every 16km travelled, a bicycle saves 3 hours of valuable time AND the rider can travel 4 times the distance as someone walking !

Nederburg has pledged to sponsor a minimum of 345 bicycles over the next year - for the Paarl East Social Development Initiative, as part of their partnership and support of the Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka's bicycle project. #BicyclesChangeLives

The Nederburg Motorcycle Marvel is one of Nederburg's Heroes range and is a rich and intense blend of Carignan, Shiraz , Grenache and Mourvedre.  It is not quite about a bicycle, but fairly close, so we recommend you stock up and get somebody mobile with a bicycle.

Do stock up on explosion of flavour to get more bikes into the hands of those where it will make a difference.

ARE YOU A BOOKWORM and keen to get children reading?

The mobile library in the Breedekloof brings valuable reading material and books to the children in the region.  This is one of the very uplifting projects which Du Toitskloof's Fairhills project supports.
View their inspiring video to see how this makes a difference to these children.

The Du Toitskloof Nebbiolo is an Italian variety, which is excellent with a braai, so stock up and support the library and other projects in the area.

Does BEE work in the winelands?

Compagniesdrift is a successful black empowerment business, initiated by the Myburgh Family Trust of the famed Meerlust Winery.
Established in 2010, they offer wine storage, bottling, labeling and now they have added wines to their portfolio, made by Chris Williams of Meerlust.

Ilse Ruthford manages the facility and there are so many great stories about the difference this project is making in the women and children's lives on the farm on the R310.  The storage facility is an impressive organisation, providing storage for 2 million bottles of wine for many neighbouring wine farms, viz Ken Forrester, Vriesenhof, whose staff also benefit from the project.

They now also grow their own veggies for the community and for sale. You too can make a difference but buying some of their Compagniesdrift Chardonnay Pinot Noir blend.

- and let us deliver it to your door, anywhere in South Africa
